Why Read?

Discover meaning, purpose, and hope.

I believe we all have a deep and profound longing to give our lives to something meaningful and truly worthwhile. Yet we live in a world that tends to pull us in so many different directions.

How do we know which path to take? How do we know what’s most important in life? And how does our view of the world impact how we live?

What I have experienced over the years is that how we choose to see the world around us will inevitably lay the foundation for our life, identity, and sense of purpose.

Every single one of us has the capacity to choose the course of our lives, and this freedom is one of the most valuable gifts we have been given as human beings.

But what can drastically influence our search for meaning and purpose are the ideas, values, and beliefs we have inherited from our family, community, and culture.

Whether we are aware of it or not, we have all been given a set of views about the world. And at some point, we will need to ask two serious questions:

1.    Why do I believe what I believe? And where did those beliefs even come from?

2.   Why do I value certain things in life? And where did those values come from?

We all have priorities that determine how we live every day: faith, relationships, causes, dreams, goals, careers, responsibilities, bills, and so on.

And for some of us, stopping long enough to evaluate why we live the way we do is probably one of the hardest steps we can take. But we need to because the trajectory of our lives depends upon it.

You alone have the opportunity to take ownership of your life and decide what’s going to be most important to you.

And when you dive deeper into exploring what drives you, you will discover that the question is not whether you have beliefs, values, and priorities.

The real question is whether they reflect a foundational view of what it actually means to be human, why you exist here on this earth, and what matters most in life.

This blog is all about the intentional pursuit of a life that is drenching with meaning, purpose, and hope. Join the conversation.
